A gourmet line for the more sybarite

What does gourmet mean? And where does it come from?

‘Gourmet’ refers to the one who has a refined taste, capable of capturing complex flavours and nuances and that enjoys trying the most elaborate and daring dishes. This term has its origin in France and it was firstly used to refer to the ‘cabin boy’, who was the person in charge of wines or the middleman that worked with wines.

We also call gourmet those dishes or products that stand out amongst the others because of their elaboration or quality.
